It's been difficult to find time for dropping the updates around here, so let's do a little shooting from the hip action today, eh?
- The Spotitive opening was a blast. I had to work late so I missed a few of the early flickrites, to whom I sincerely apologize - would have loved seeing you guys and saying 'hi', but the rest of the evening was a big ol' party. It was great finally getting to meet a bunch of locals in person I had only known through websites and email. Emma Berg? Probably the cutest thing ever. Anyway... a few pics can be seen both on mplsart.com (click on the "09/29/06 Spotitive" gallery in left-most column) and on fellow flickrite Gabriel's photostream. Thank god those guys brought their cameras, cuz as you'll see in one of Gabriel's pics mine barely made it out of the bag and out from behind my back. Thanks to everyone who stopped in to say hi (except Spike, who was too shy to actually say hi ;-).
- I've been shooting up a storm the past couple of weeks. Last Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Ironic Teachings, aka Leab, and his gorgeous family. He recently had a baby and asked me to hit him up with some cute baby photos. I don't know why I was at all worried because babies are probably the easiest thing ever to photograph. Ever. I mean, well, that is if you take about 300 pictures of them. The squirm as bad as cats! Leab was awesome, his wife was the sweetest thing ever, and his baby is gonna give DeRusha's mini-him a run for his money on the cuteness scale.
- I also parked myself in 2 spots on Sunday for catching a little Twin Cities Marathon action. First stop was on the Franklin Bridge over the Mississippi at 7 a.m. where I got some beautiful sunrise shots of the runners. I also went to the finish line at the capitol in St. Paul. I wasn't there long enough to actually get any dramatic marathon finishes, just 10-mile finishers. That was actually a little bit of alright in my book because they said there was about 10,500 runners and 300,000 spectators. Um, yeah. That was a lot of people, but great fun.
- This Friday a show is opening at The Rogue Buddha Gallery of photographer Marc Hauser's work. This sounds like an amazing show and Marc will actually be on-hand Friday evening for the opening reception. I'll be there, camera in hand to check it out. I met the gallery's owner, Nick, last week and he dropped a few tidbits of information that drew me in... like, for instance, that Marc started working for playboy when he was 15. Just... how does that work anyway?
- And finally... *drum roll* ... I'm working on a new website which will be unveiled in the next month. I woke up from a dream about 10 days ago with the idea and knew it was time to make this bad boy happen. "The legendary" Taylor will be helping out on the site and you'll probably catch a glimpse of some other locals you may (or may not) recognize, but other than that you're just gonna have to wait for le grande unveiling. Will be a whole barrel of fun.
Wow, my quick update turned in to quite the novel channeling Chatty McChatterson. Hope to see some of you Friday!

Oh jesus, I nearly died from lack of oxygen last night while catching the tail-end of the South Park, World of War(craft) episode on comedy central. I read about the episode, but it was quite random and lucky that I was flipping channels and ended up there.
Go. Watch. Now. [link, n00b]
There's some serious p0wnage in there.

Head on over to Flak photo today to check out some pretty amazing photography. The site does a great job of featuring works of people from all over the world.
And, um, while you're at it check out my photo too.

Someone got a brand new collar last night.
And it has a bell.
AND a red polka-dotted bow.
Indigo sans dignity is fucking cute I can barely stand it.

Excuse me for a minute while I have a freak-out moment because I've been without internet at home the past few evenings. Despite the fact I spend 9 hours a day sitting in front of a computer at work, this is devastating. I haven't been able to photoblog, I haven't been able to dish out photos to all the people waiting for their loot, and I haven't been able to check out my favorite celebrity gossip sites.
*sniff*
Don't worry, I've been consoling my poor luck with decadent, gourmet chocolate cupcakes and photographing burlesque dancers both on, and off, stage.
We'll get through this difficult time. Together.
In the meantime I gotta go bust some ass at Time Warner Cable this afternoon. It might not be pretty which is why I'm going to wear my tall shoes for intimidation purposes. You know, just in case. I'm also going to bring a Thesaurus to clocking them with when they give me lip. In the event that doesn't work I'll make their heads explode with big words.
I'll see you guys when I see you. And if you run in to any of my photoblog readers, please pass along the message m'kay, great, thanks.
