Why I never!

03 August 2006

When Minnesota's favorite columnist wrote this personal attack against the quality of my upbringing yesterday, I sighed.

Heavily.

Probably scribbled that shit down after watching this. Don't be a fool. Watch this short vid and turn up the sound bitches.

Mental note to self: MUST GET MANHUNT!!!.

Comments

Crikey. So if a good parent doesn't want their kids playing the games what do they do? Whine to our Babysitter Government. Heaven forbid parents get off their ass and actually, you know, PARENT.

Parental Responsibility != Banning Entertainment

Besides, didn't they once claim that comic books were going to bring about the downfall of society? What a fucktard. I must be the dangerous driver that I am because I played too many hours of Frogger.

Don't forget...
Pac-Man is all about heroin...and overeating.
I mean he can EAT ghosts when takes a big pill?
Now, as for Manhunt: I played it when it came out.
Honestly...it was boring. Sure, you could suffocate someone with a plastic bag, but after the fifth time, you get really bored.
My problem? Why isn't there something about "mom and dad" talking to their kid(s)? That's how you deal with it.
Why does everyone forget this?

Isn't it funny how she conveniently forgot how kids are *buying* these games? Shit. When I was 12 I could afford bubble-tape bubblegum and that was it. Ain't no stinkin' thousand dollar computer and $60 dollar games.

God I miss bubble tape.

I would probably allow my future teen child to continue playing violent videogames if they were intelligent/informed enough to raise the argument:

"But the chief judge in Minnesota's United States Court says there's no harm in these games!"

It's better than "fuck off, dad".

Oh look! It's the martyr parents whining and feeling sorry for themselves about how hard it is to parent when everyone is so against them...(sob, sob..sniffle)

It's six feet of bubblegum for YOU, not them.

Is that the same columnist that wrote that odd article about Keith Richards a few weeks back (after Pirates came out)?

I too am furious at all the violence in video game. Can't we go back to the good ol' days, when people got their violence from Shakespeare. Or maybe the days of the fights at the Roman Colesieum. Those were good times.

Yes, fights to the death. Books where everyone ends up murdered. Those video games are really evil.

"God it feels good to get all that off my chest. Will be back for more regular updates now, cross my fingers.

I mean heart."

And to think that I believed you! *runs away with tears in my eyes*

I think she was talking about Minnesota's children being adversely impacted. I don't think anything was mentioned about Wisconsin. So you're in the clear.
